2) GREEN PARTY NATIONAL MID-TERM CONVENTION ***************************************************
Published on Monday, July 22, 2002 in USA Today:Two years after its warnings
about corporate greed helped decide the outcome of the presidential race,
the Green Party gathered here this weekend with the goal of not just being
spoilers, but winners.With 146 elected officials nationwide, the Greens
are running 362 candidates in 39 states this fall. Among them are 16 running
for governor, eight for the U.S. Senate, 59 for the House of Representatives,
109 for state legislatures and 38 for other statewide offices. ***More:

3) RALLY TO KEEP DAVIS-BESSE CLOSED ON JULY 27 ***************************************************
There will be a rally to promote keeping the Davis-Besse nuclear plant closed
on:SATURDAY JULY 27 FROM 16 PM CRANE CREEK STATE PARK STATE
RT. 2 - 15 MILES EAST OF TOLEDOThe rally will focus on keeping Davis-Besse
shut down permanently, jobs and income security for Davis-Besse workers,
reducing dependence on fossil fuels, investing in clean and renewable energies,
and no atomic waste transport to and storage in Yucca Mountain.Speakers
will include: Dr. Al Compaan, PhD, Physics Professor at the University of
Toledo; Paul Gunter, Nuclear Information and Resource Service; Michael J.
Keegan, Coalition for a Nuclear Free Great Lakes; Anne Wise M.D. from Cleveland;

4) FIVE NEW STATES ADDED TO NATIONAL GREEN PARTY ***************************************************
On the first day of the Green Party National Mid- Term Convention on July
18, five additional states were accredited and affiliated with the Green Party
of the United States: Alaska, Nebraska, North Carolina, Vermont and Washington.
This brings total state affiliation to 39.***************************************************
5) RALPH NADER ON DONAHUE ON JULY 24 ***************************************************
Ralph Nader will be appearing live on Donahue at 8 PM ET, Wednesday, July
24 on MSNBC. The show will be broadcast from Houston with 1,000 ex-Enron emplo-
yees in the audience. Nader will be joined by column- ist Molly Ivins. The
show will be rebroadcast at 11 PM and 3 AM.***************************************************
6) CAMPUS GREENS 2002 ANNUAL CONVENTION ***************************************************
Campus Greens 2002 Annual Convention & Super Rally August 8-11 -- University
of Kansas, Lawrence KSBe a part of the fastest growing progressive student
organization in the country! The second annual Campus Greens Convention will
be held August 8-11 at the University of Kansas, Lawrence. Students, educators
and concerned citizens from all over the nation are coming together to organize
and build a movement for radical democracy and social justice.The
convention will consist of a main plenary meeting, educational workshops,
panel discussions, a massive Super Rally, Saturday night Party Extravaganza,
and lots more!The many skills and issues workshops that the convention
will feature include sessions on electoral organizing, media strategies, fundraising,
peace/anti-war organizing, sustainable agriculture, corporatization of education,
the global justice movement, Greens and Labor, challenging oppression, art
