3) BIN LADEN'S CHERNOBYLS?
***************************************************
"The terrorists---whoever they are---are right now
fully armed with 103
atomic weapons of the highest
conceivable killing capability. These weapons
are
now in the United States. They are at critical mass.
They threaten
nearly all our major cities."
- Harvey Wasserman, Columbus ALIVE 9/20/01

4) NEW CAMPUS GREENS ORGANIZING MANUAL ON-LINE
***************************************************
The revised edition of the Campus Greens Organizing
Manual has valuable information
on recruiting new
members, building a new group, planning & executing
a campaign, fundraising, and more!

5) ANOTHER PERSPECTIVE ON CORPORATE WELFARE
***************************************************
"The Feds are offering a huge bailout to the airlines,
and others are
likely to follow. The national mood
will not stop corporations from asking
for corporate
welfare. We should call for all such aid to include
benefits
for workers, moratoriums on mass layoffs,
etc. We're not doing this just to
bail out worried
stockholders. Let's make sure everyone benefits from
these." - Dean Myerson, Green Party of the United States
***************************************************
6) GREEN PARTY EMERGENCY ORGANIZING CONFERENCE
***************************************************
There will be a Green Party Emergency Organizing
Conference for a Democratic
Response to the Crisis
on Sat., Sept. 29 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at D.C.
University's Auditorium.
The
current crisis requires a thoughtful and dynamic
response. Those committed
to genuine democracy, justice,
and a sustainable and peaceful society are
looking for
every opportunity we have to come together, deliberate,
and
decide upon a common agenda for addressing the crisis.
This
conference is a project of the Green Party of the
United States Steering Committee
and of the D.C. State-
hood Greens. It's purpose is to assist Greens and allies
in organizing our contributions to the larger anti-war,
pro-democracy, anti-racist,
social justice movements.
An
ad hoc organizing committee of the Green Party of
the United States is in
the early stages of assembling
this event. The Green Party has already secured
a venue,
made invitations to a number of informed and relevant
persons
to speak, and begun to develop a program for
the day. You are invited to be
present at the conference.
Please
plan on attending the Emergency Organizing
Conference, and please watch for
further notices, as
some elements of the conference are likely to change.
Events are moving rapidly.
Updates
will be posted at:
