6) HUNGER IN OHIO: THE STATE OF THE STATE 2001
***************************************************
The Ohio Hunger Task Force has published "Hunger in
Ohio: the State of
the State 2001'" a comprehensive
overview of the status of hunger in
Ohio. This publi-
cation contains the most recent data on food inse-
curity
and the new measure of hunger initiated by the
USDA and US Bureau of Census.
The
report found that 8% of Ohioans report that they
repeatedly experience hunger,
have reduced the food
intake of family members, or were concerned about the
quality of their diet. Also, Ohio is lagging behind
the rest of the country
in child nutrition programs.
